Activated Carbon For Solvent Recovery
Coconut Shell Based Activated Carbon which is steam activated, and has large pore volume and very hard which makes it highly suitable for low boiling point solvents such as methylene chloride. Being derived from coconut shell, it is treated with a mild acid solution to remove all the impurities before being re-neutralized to produce a high quality carbon. Being of coconut shell based, it has more microspores than coal based carbon, thus making it more efficient in the adsorption of low molecular weight solvents. The low ash content of the carbon increases the self- ignition temperatures of the carbon making it most suitable for the recovery of low boiling solvents.
